This weeks trip to London was to see Rheumatology, i may as well take advantage of all the departments ha!
After years of back pain and the odd oedema on my lower back someone might finally be getting to the cause of it. It could be numerous things but tests are now being done, I have had MRI’S before but they are now going to do a bone density test and a few other tests. Heres hoping for a diagnosis. The consultant also asked me how long I hadn't been able to straighten my left elbow, my answer was I had never noticed it didn't straighten!
Also the past few weeks my neutrophils have dropped back down meaning I am neutropenic again. This means I am more prone to infections and the bone marrow isn't producing enough neutrophils. It is a mystery yet as to why but I have started a medication called GCSF to try and boost their growth while my consultants figure it out. One theory is it is because of my chimerism that I have mentioned in previous posts and that I still need that donor top up.
So the limbo, I cant have a donor top up until I am off immunosuppressants and I cant come off those until we have sorted if I have upper gut graft versus host disease, and we don't know that until I have had a camera and biopsy test in there.
So lots of tests and waiting, meanwhile I am still struggling with the daily nausea which also cant be treated until the camera test is done, lots of anti sickness meds until then!
